Okay - I get to go first...by the time Jayme and I read this, we should be sipping a glass of Chianti listening to some guy who looks like Dean Martin in a quaint restaurant in some remote hamlet of Northern Italy. Any memories of times with Jayme over her first 50 years will be appreciated...but remember, it's a family blog so be careful which memories! Thanks, everyone! John

One of my favorite memories of mom's birthdays was when Dad rented a video camera and we had a day of filming and singing for Mom's 30th. We lived in Whitewater, KS and I was in pre-school, o most of my memories are faded but those videos bring me back.
Every time we watch them Mom is so happy. We have Bogey help us out, Tori sings a solo, and I have to go to the bathroom. The look on my mom's face when she watches is priceless.
Mom- I love you so much and thank you very much for molding me into what I am today. Everyone you know loves you so much, because you love all of us so much. Happy birthday. Love you.

Mom,

While you've been an amazing mother over the years, all of my favorite memories revolve around a slightly different role you've played in my life - my best friend. You've always been my rock. You're the person I go to for advice, even when I know what you're going to say is not what I want to hear. And when you have something tough to say, you say it anyway because you know that in the end it will make me a better person. Over the years you've showed me how to play hard (shopping, mani's/pedi's, our beloved tv shows, cooking and poking fun at Dad and Alex), love lots and most importantly be the best daughter, wife and mother I can be. You've helped shape me into a woman I'm very proud to be.

One of my favorite memories is from our trip to Maui. It was your 20th wedding anniversary; you and dad took Alex and I as well as Grandma and Grandpa Woodall with you to celebrate. The first day on the luxurious property we discovered the hotel offered daily hula lessons. We were so excited! It was going to be just us three girls learning to hula! We had NO idea what we were getting ourselves into! We got to the lessons a little early and noticed there were tons of kids running around with their moms standing on the sidelines watching. My first thought was that they provided daycare during the lessons for all of the moms that were going to participate. Within 5 minutes our teacher said, "Everyone grab a grass skirt, it's time to HULA!" It didn't take me long to realize that the only people in the room picking out grass skirts were the little kids. I looked around and noticed that all of the moms were grabbing their cameras from their bags and finding the perfect location to capture their precious daughter learning to hula. You, Grandma and I looked at each other with blank looks that said "what do we do?" You put a big smile on your face and said something to the extent of "What are we waiting for? We better grab our skirts before they run out of our size!" So there we went, the three oldest people in the class by decades, standing in the back of the group, learning to hula! And, if I may say so myself, we were the top of our class :)

While there may be many miles between us, our strong bond has never faded. You are still my rock, my confidant and my very best friend.

Happy Birthday! I love you, Mom! Tori

Jayme, Happy Birthday, I am sure you and John are having a fabulous time in Italy, my favorite country to visit. At future Banbury functions, we should take turns being "over served" so we can make sure each other gets home safely. Thanks again for all your help on the Banbury Auction and for agreeing to co-chair next year. Take care, Wayne

Hi Mom! ;)
Happy B-day:)
I just don't believe you're 50 already. You still look 35 to me. (max..) One of the many happy memories I have from my stay at your home was when I had just arrived.
I had made a book with a Dutch theme as a present. I was so nervous that I practiced what to say when I wanted to give it to you. When I came upstairs I blurted the entire story to you, without giving you a chance to comment. You had a strange look on your face so I blurted a little more (again nerves). When I finally stopped you said: Susan, your speaking Dutch... I was so embarrassed that I didn't tell the entire story in English but just said something like: 'Here, a gift I made at home'... Lol
There isn't a day that passes without thinking of you all and remembering the great time I had in Kansas. Words can't describe how thankful I am for that time. I have learned things that give me an edge still. In life, in work and in love.
Have a great B-day, and 50 more happy ones to come!

Love Susan

Happy Birthday Jayme. I've enjoyed getting to know you and sharing a Korean son with you. He is a connection we will always have and enjoy as are the great times Jee, Brant, and Alex had together. Our trip to Seattle to Jee's graduation was a lot of fun as was catching up with you and your family. I hope you enjoy Italy, it was my favorite place to visit when I went to Europe. May God Bless you and your family and give you many more happy birthdays to come. Linda Willoughby

Dear Jayme,
How fortunate for Lapeer County and me in particular that you came our way. In the short time you have been here you have made such an impact and helped so many causes. You are a treasured friend and so fun to know. Best wishes to a lovely young woman that does not look as Nan said 1/2 century old. Have a great time in Italy and I can't wait to enjoy an Italian dinner prepared by the Resnik chefs upon their return from cooking school.

To our FAVORITE DAUGHTER;
50 years ago into this world entered a 6 1/2 pound ball of action and you have never stopped yet except to say "me too" to everything your brother said. We were very happy when you learned how to sit on the pot to pee instead of standing in front of the pot and peeing down your leg!
You have been a blessing to us as you have given us our favorite son inlaw, grand daughter and one of our four favorite grandsons. If thats not enough you also gave us our favorite Dutch grand daughter Susan and Korean grandson Jee.
We are so proud of you and have really enjoyed the first 50 with you and look forward to the next years that God allows us to be here with you. Keep caring for people and helping those who are in need.
We love you very much.
Your Favorite Mom and Dad.

Dear Jayme,
Happy 50th Birthday! We hope you and John have a wonderful time in Italy.
Thank you for making Gary and me a part of your family while we were in Kansas.
One of my special memories was when you called me after Gary got his new heart and asked me if we still wanted a yorkie, that you and your family wanted to get us one for Christmas.
You are a kind, loving, and a wonderful person and we are so fortunate to know you.
We love you,
Gary, Linda, & Abby

Jayme,
First off...no way you can be 50. You haven't changed a bit since I used to be at your house almost every day. I have so many memories with you and your family it's hard to find one that sticks out above the others. From all the trips you took me on, skiing and to the lake, you always treated me like another child and I have always thought of you and John as my second parents. All the sleep overs, dancing in your living room to Wilson Phillips and the Eagles and Ace of Base, all the wrestling matches with Alex (who's butt we always kicked), it was never a dull moment. Of all the memories we have made the one that will stick with me is how you always made me feel like another extension of your wonderful family. Happy 50th birthday, much love to you and the rest of the Resniks and Woodalls.

Love,
Meredith or Homer as named by Jim

I still think you were thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to not getting a ticket when you flashed your fabulous smile at the cop. He must've had no heart!?!

Jayme-Your smile always lights up the room. Your kindness always fills up the hearts of those around you. I'm so glad that you are my cousin! I love you and I hope you have a very Happy Birthday!!!

Jayme - When you first moved to Michigan, Mike was just a junior high kid playing in the band "helpless". Now, he is graduating from high school and on to college. Matt was in elemantary school and is now a junior in high school and I am now officially the shortest person in the house.

Alex was senior in high school playing basketball and Tori was in college.

John was just starting his new job and I remember thinking what a wonderful wife you were, supporting the dealer meetings, having the dealers at your home for cocktails. It made a difference in developing relationships with our customers!

Now you have a beautiful grand baby. Both kids finished college!

My time does fly by!

Wonderful birthday wishes!

Damn you look good, just wish my brother looked as good as you! But you are not allowed to be 50 that means my brother is getting older too and that means that I am really getting older. But I act younger than he does.

Jayme, I love you and so glad you are a part of our family even if you have to put up with John.

Hi Jayme… So, it’s your BIRTHDAY!! And in your honor, here’s my attempt at birthday rap – maybe John can wear a skull cap, put on some sunglasses and sing this to you…

You are the Best..
We’re so impressed
I think you know
we needed you so

The way you present
the derby event
Was oh so great
You didn’t hesitate
To pick up the slack
And cover our back

And run with the roses
the finish line poses
Now we are so fine
With this bottom line

That I’ll take time today
Coz' I wanted to say…

You look like 30
You are so purty!
And smart and sweet
Don’t miss a beat!
So with this year
We had such fear..
But I think you know
You are the best
We’re all impressed !

This girl is 50?
She’s much too nifty!

LOL!!! Have a wonderful birthday and trip, Jayme!

Love, Carole

Wow - I can't believe how the time flies. It seems like yesterday we were in Brownies getting into "little girl trouble". Some of my best memories as a little girl were spent with you; from playing "witchipoo" with your brother, to laughing at the sleepover at your house before leaving for cheerleading camp. Life has been good to you! When I look at you I still see the same girl that was the 1979 Circle High Thunderbirds Homecoming Queen, young, alive and gorgeous! I wish you the best for your birthday and I'm glad to call you my friend.

Happy Birthday!! It has been great sharing a birthdate with you (especially since that is the only way your daughter could remember my birthday)!! You have been the best mother-in-law a guy could ask for, an excellent Nana to James and a wonderful mother to Alex and Tori! Enjoy your time in Italy and come home safely so you can hear James sing, "He's got high hopes, he's got high hopes!!"

Happy Birthday Aunt Jayme!!! When Mike and I started dating, he would tell me stories (all good of course..ha ha) about his Uncle John and Aunt Jayme and how he couldn't wait for me to meet them!! After being a part of the Resnik family for almost 20 years, I can say that I am truly blessed to know you. You may not realize it but you have molded me as a mom!!! I remember watching you with Tori and Alex (when they were young and even now)wishing that someday when I have kids I want to have that kind of relationship with them. You are the most giving person I know and it shows in all that you do! Not to mention that you are "smoking hot" at 50...ooops 29!!!
We love you so much and I wish we could see each other more often but life just keeps moving so fast!! Enjoy Italy...I am jealous but you so deserve it!! Miss you and love you!

Aunt Jayme - Where should I start, I have so many fantastic memories that we have shared. From staying with you and John in Wichita right after you were married to hanging out with your new family in Whitewater. You always have a smile on your face and laugh with me. You are a blessing to all the Resnik Family but especially to John. (BTW he’s a pretty good guy). Here’s a little secret for you; I always said that when I found a wife I wanted to find similar qualities in her that you possessed; beauty, humor, caring, giving, challenging, smart and full of LOVE. (I think I did ok!!) You have raised an amazing family and set the bar pretty high for us but we will do our best!! We love you so much and miss you!! Happy Birthday!!! As the say in Italy, “CIAO BELLA!!”

You and Uncle John are amazing role models and you have created a family that makes me even prouder to be a Resnik. In other words, to us you are IN-famous, meaning (of course) MORE than famous. ;)

Hope y'all have a great trip and that we get to see you all again soon.

Sincerely,

Jayme -- Welcome to the real world of a few more aches, a lot more naps, a little less hours in the day, and better _________ ---- you fill in the blank with whatever you like. If I were sitting in a quaint little restaurant in Italy with my oh-so-romantic (you outdid yourself on this one John)husband, surrounded by soft music and glowing soft candles, being waited on by some buff, dark, and surely handsome hunk speaking with an Italian accent, I'm sure I would be thinking ----better ---wine! But you fill that blank in with whatever fits your mood best. John -- just remember - this is her blank!

We have shared so many memories together that I could go on and on but I guess what I remember the most is that those times always involved some sort of deep, and I'm sure intelligent, conversation, tons of laughter and of course a hug. You have always been such a wonderful friend and I really miss being able to get together more often. The wedding was such a great time and we I wish we could just get together like that atleast once a month - on your dime of course, John!

Have a wonderful time celebrating your special day and I want all the details when you get back. OK, you don't have to give them ALL to me - just the ones that will make me green with envy! Have fun and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Love you lots, Kathy

Happy Birthday Jayme! It's hard to believe that 5 years ago I was having a dinner interview with you and John in Lucky's. I was hoping and praying that you would both like me and offer me the job. You & John were trying to make sure I wasn't crazy becuase of the job I was leaving behind :-). I know he highly values your opinion and your ability to judge a person's character, so thanks for giving me a thumbs up! As soon as I met you I felt completely at ease. It really helped to be able to open up about why I was looking for the opportunity to come to Champion. Your genuine caring nature shows through in your every word and deed. Have a wonderful time in Italy!

Okay - my turn again...one of my favorite memories is when we were dating. I lived in Oklahoma City, you were going to school at K-State. Weekends when we could we would meet back at home in Towanda and Potwin. The routine was fairly simple...we would drive around Butler County, then come hang out on your front porch, admire the view of Mechanic Street, hope that your Dad didn't spray us through the window with the nozzle from the sink in the kitchen, and talk until about 3am. I'd drive home, Andy and Gwen would wake me up at about 7, and that evening we would repeat the same process. Two nights ago, we were sitting on a lounger looking at Florence, and everything felt the same except we didn't have to worry about your Dad. Point is - whether we're looking at Florence or Mechanic Street, we've had fun wherever we've been. And this blog is kind of a cool reminder of who we've been having fun with...so, unless I get to post again this evening before you read this...I love you very much and let's hope the next 50 is as fun as the first....John

Jayme - you've got to be the most beautiful 50 year old I've ever known :) I hope you have the happiest and most memorable Birthday ever enjoying your time in Italy.

What comes to mind while thinking about how special you are to me is the fantastic Resnik hospitality and your wondeful cooking while we visited you on our honeymoon. We really did have a wonderful time and it was so hard to leave there. And I think you still owe me some recipes.... :) Happy Birthday! Love you Sis -- Cecelia Resnik

Jayme,

Patty, Kevin, and I enjoyed spending time with you on your 50th birthday so much!! I still can't believe John spilled the beans on your age. The 500+ year old monastery's terrace overlooking Firenzie (Florence) was an unbelievably beautiful location to sit and meet new friends. We hope the rest of your and John's vacation was as good as our's. We hope to meet you and John again in the future at an equally wonderful vacation spot.

The Dupree's from Texas

PS- I hope you and John didn't continue the partying and keeping the place up like the 5 of us did the 2nd night. It was so funny to get "shushed" by the main lady at only 10:30 PM.

How come I get to know about this so late!! lol well because I haven't check my email for looong time haha...

ah...I remember when we first met. wow it has been already 8 years!!!
oh ok, frankly, I don't remember the first moment we met in Minneapolis High school, but I do remember when I asked you if I could live with you and your family that is now my American family. I think you were in a find green dress just like the one on the picture on this homepage, but somewhat different...anyway that's not important...the important thing is everytime I think of that moment when you said yes to me for living together, I thank God for giving me one of the biggest presents in my life. Living with you, dad, and Alex was just big blessing for me.

You are still beautiful like an angel who saved me 8 years ago when I was so worried whether I should go back to Korea or remain in the US if I could have found another host family.

I wish I could see you before this year passes by. Love you mom
and happy belated birthday!!!
